The Versatility of a Waistcoat

A waistcoat is a great alternative to a jacket in the warmer days of summer.  Keeping cool but still looking smart. Worn with a contrasting shirt, it helps to add an extra element of colour and texture to your outfit.

Teamed with suit trousers, chinos or jeans, your waistcoat can be worn as formal wear to elevate your suit, as a smart addition to your chino’s, or casual with jeans.

A waistcoat with a contrasting colour or texture (or both), helps draw attention to the wearer, ideal for a groom to stand out and make an impression!

As a special thank you to all of our customers and continuing with our 10th anniversary celebrations, we are pleased to offer 10% off all purchased waistcoats for the month of August.

There are a variety of different looks that can be created when wearing a waistcoat;

Tweed

A tweed waistcoat can add a more relaxed look to a formal suit, adding texture combined with a touch of elegance. To finish off the look, a lining is often added to compliment the colour of the tweed. Perfect for a more relaxed look.

Scoop

A scoop waistcoat is a good choice for a smart or formal occasion. It can work particularly well in summer in a pastel colour and also helps show off more of the shirt and tie.

Worn with evening wear, the scoop waistcoat helps to elevate the look under a black evening jacket, matching trousers and crisp white shirt and bow tie. It also ensures that elegant look is maintained once the jacket is removed.

Double-breasted

The double-breasted waistcoat is a smart and more formal alternative. Finished with a collar, 2 rows of buttons and a straight-cut hemline.  Often worn with tails or a lounge suit, making it the perfect finish to a stylish outfit.

To add extra interest why not add a pop of colour. This can reflect a colour theme or an accent colour in the tie or pocket-square.
